Motion Control + Turntable for Varley’s Sunglasses Launch
When fashion brand Varley introduced sunglasses to their product lineup, the creative team wanted movement that felt clean, modern, and premium.
To achieve this, the production required precise, repeatable camera motion combined with smooth rotational movement for both the model and product hero shots.
By pairing our motion control cinema robot with a synchronised motion-controlled turntable, we were able to create fluid, dynamic shots that elevated the campaign visuals.

For this shoot we combined our motion control robot with a synchronised turntable, allowing the camera and subject to move together in perfectly coordinated motion.
This setup made it possible to capture smooth orbit shots around the model as well as dynamic spinning product shots.
The Creative Challenge
Launching a new product category meant the campaign needed to feel distinctive and visually engaging.
The director wanted to capture:
smooth cinematic camera moves around the model wearing the sunglasses
controlled rotation for product hero moments
perfectly repeatable motion across multiple takes
clean, fluid movement that enhanced the premium aesthetic
Coordinating camera movement and product rotation manually would have been extremely difficult to achieve consistently.
The motion control robot handled the camera movement while the synchronised turntable introduced smooth rotational motion.
Because both systems were programmed within the same motion control environment, their movement remained perfectly synchronised.
This allowed us to create shots where the model rotates smoothly while the camera tracks dynamically, keeping the sunglasses perfectly framed.
On Set
The shoot had a relaxed and collaborative atmosphere, with the director and creative team experimenting with different motion ideas throughout the day.
Because the motion control system allows moves to be programmed, duplicated, and adjusted quickly, we were able to test variations on the spot and refine the shots until the desired look was achieved.
By the end of the shoot, we had captured all of the planned visuals along with additional options for the final edit.
