Lensmaster-native operation — what that means for your shoot

Kirth is a Lensmaster brand ambassador for Camerabotics, the software that powers our cinema robots. Most operators can run the system. Kirth can program, optimise, and troubleshoot at the software level on set. That means faster programming, fewer delays, and more creative flexibility within your shoot day.

Lensmaster supports genlock and timecode synchronisation, multi-axis FIZ control, pre-visualisation, and the ability to build moves in reverse. Useful for complex product sequences and multi-pass compositing work. This capability is identical across Princess, Pixel, and Phil.bot.

Based in Harlow, Essex. Available UK-wide including London

Our studio is at Unit B, Harlow Business Centre, Harlow, CM195AF. It's a ground-floor space with private loading bay access, and on-site parking. 30 minutes from central London. Available for studio hire as part of any robot booking.

Pixel robot travels in a check-in-friendly flight case, meaning we can support your production anywhere in the UK, or internationally on request. Phil.bot is available for location work with optional 2-day battery power, eliminating the need for 3-phase mains on set.

Frequently asked questions

How much does motion control robot hire cost in the UK?

1

KN Moco hire rates start from £1,800/day for Pixel (compact and portable) and £2,500/day for Princess (larger studio robot) and £3,400/day for Phil.bot (heavy-duty, 20kg payload). All robot hires comes with a Lensmaster operator as on-site programmer and technical director for the full shoot day.. All prices exclude VAT.

Do you hire with or without an operator?

2

Both options are available. Dry hire gives you the robot, software, and full technical setup - ideal if you have an experienced Lensmaster operator on your crew. Contact us for dry hire rates.

Are you available outside Essex, including London?

3

Yes. We're based in Harlow, 30 minutes from central London, and travel UK-wide for productions. Pixel travels in a check-in-friendly flight case for international work. Phil.bot is available for location shoots with an optional 2-day battery system. A delivery and collection fee of £150–£300 applies depending on distance.

How long does setup take on shoot day?

4

Pixel can be set up and ready to shoot in 20–30 minutes. Princess typically takes 45–60 minutes for a standard setup. We always factor setup time into the schedule and build in time for testing and creative refinement before the shoot begins.

Can I hire the robot for just a half day?

5

Yes. Half-day rates are available: Princess at £1,500 (5 hours) and Pixel at £1,100 (5 hours). Half-day hire is best suited to single-product studio shoots or short-schedule productions.

What cameras can be mounted on the robot?

6

Princess supports any camera setup up to 11kg — compatible with Canon C70, Canon R5C, Sony FX9, ARRI Amira, and RED cameras. Pixel supports setups up to 5kg. Phil.bot supports up to 20kg, handling the heaviest professional cinema camera packages including large-format systems. FIZ motors and SDI/HDMI/XLR I/O are included on Princess.

What is Lensmaster and why does it matter?

7

Lensmaster is the motion control software developed by Camerabotics that programs and operates our cinema robots. Kirth is a Lensmaster brand ambassador with experience and top-level support from the development team. Lensmaster enables fast on-set programming and advanced multi-axis FIZ control.

Can you add high-speed slow motion to a hire booking?

8

Yes. Our Pixboom Spark high-speed camera captures up to 1000fps at 4K resolution and can be added to any hire booking for £450/day. It's commonly used for liquid pours, product launches, impact shots, and texture reveals, synced with the robot for precision timing.

What are the booking terms?

9

A 50% deposit is required to confirm all bookings. The balance is due on or before the first day of hire. Cancellations within 5 working days of the shoot forfeit the deposit. Multi-day discounts are available, contact us for a project quote.

Can I book a demo before committing to a hire?

10

Yes. We offer free demo calls and, where schedule allows, on-site demonstrations at our Harlow studio. A demo is a good way to assess whether Phil, Princess or Pixel is the right robot for your production before booking. Get in touch to arrange.
